Stump Grinding & Removal
Old stumps are more than an eyesore
Leftover stumps get in the way of mowing, trip people up, and can sprout new shoots for years. Some, especially those affected by honey fungus, can spread decay to other plants in your garden.
Our stump grinders chew the stump and main roots into fine chippings, usually to a depth of 150–300mm. Compact machines fit through gaps as narrow as a standard garden gate, so even stumps in back gardens with no side access can be removed without fuss.

- Narrow-access machines for back gardens
- Grinding to 150–300mm below ground (deeper on request)

FAQ
Stump Grinding & Removal FAQs
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Call us on 07940 726 552 and we’ll be happy to help.
How deep do you grind stumps?
Typically 150–300mm below ground level, which is enough for turf or planting. If you’re building or laying a patio, we can go deeper — just let us know.
Can you get a grinder into my back garden?
Almost certainly. Our narrow-access machines fit through openings of around 70cm, and we use boards to protect lawns and paths.
Is stump grinding better than chemical stump killer?
Yes, in most cases. Grinding removes the stump immediately, whereas chemicals can take months or years and don’t remove the wood.
What happens to the chippings?
You can keep them as mulch for borders, or we can take them away and backfill the hole with topsoil.
