When a tree has to come down, it has to come down properly
Removing a tree is rarely as simple as cutting it at the base. Most gardens in Surrey are surrounded by houses, fences, greenhouses and overhead cables, so the majority of removals are carried out by climbing the tree and taking it down in controlled sections, lowering each piece on ropes.
Before any work starts, we check whether the tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order or sits in a conservation area, and we’ll handle the paperwork with your local council if it is. We also look at whether removal really is the best option — sometimes a crown reduction solves the problem and keeps a valuable tree.

Do I need permission to remove a tree in Surrey?
Not usually — but if the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order you need consent from the council, and in a conservation area you must give six weeks’ notice. We check this for every job and can submit the application for you.
Can you remove a tree that’s very close to my house?
Yes. Trees close to buildings are taken down in small sections, with each piece lowered on ropes so nothing falls onto roofs, fences or patios.
Will you take all the wood away?
Yes, waste removal is included in every quote. If you’d like to keep logs for a wood burner, just tell us and we’ll cut them to length and stack them for you.
How long does a tree removal take?
Most garden trees are removed in half a day to a day. Very large or awkward trees may take longer — we’ll give you a realistic timescale with your quote.
